EXCELLENTVerified I will recommend Frank the Tank Tours to EVERYONE! Honestly, I cannot say enough great things about the 3 full-day tours we booked through Frank the Tank while in Costa Rica. Our family of 5 vacationed with our friends, a family of 4, and we did all of the tours together. (Our kids ranged in age from 6 to 10 years old.) A shuttle bus would pick us up from the resort, take us around to all the activities each day, and then drop us off. Each day included a driver and a tour guide. It was not the same person doing both, which we liked a lot. Each day also included lunch at a local restaurant to enjoy authentic Costa Rican cuisine, all of which were the best meals we had on our trip (way better than the resort food!). Tour #1 was a visit to a beautiful waterfall, a trip to a coffee/cocoa farm where we made our own coffee and hot cocoa from scratch, a brief stop into a butterfly sanctuary that was located at the lunch restaurant, a trip to a part of the rainforest where we saw wild sloths up close and a ton of other wildlife, and the day finished with a hike through the jungle and across multiple hanging bridges where we saw lots of wild monkeys. This day was AMAZING, our tour guide (Grey) was AMAZING (so educated about everything in Costa Rica!), everything was AMAZING! Tour #2 was facilitated through Frank the Tank, but was outsourced to Tenorio Adventure Company (which we knew ahead of time). This was our super adventurous day doing white water rafting in Class 3 and Class 4 rapids. I was nervous about this activity, especially because we had multiple small children participating too, but it ended up being way more safe and secure than I expected. We had the option to skip the Class 4 rapids and walk along the river instead at that point, but we decided to proceed in the raft, and it was insanely thrilling and fun. No regrets! Our guide (Mario) made us feel comfortable and safe the entire time, and he was extremely nice and funny too.Tour #3 was also adventurous. First we stopped at a local park to feed the most gigantic iguanas I’ve ever seen in my life. When they saw we had lettuce, they flocked to us like sea gulls – so cool! Then we made a stop to learn how sand is collected from the rivers to use for building things. After that was a relaxing boat tour through the jungle where we saw lots of beautiful wildlife, including monkeys and crocs. After lunch, we had a lesson on making pottery, followed by the main attraction of the day – ziplining, repelling, and a tarzan swing experience. THESE WERE AMAZING! The whole day was awesome, and we loved our tour guide (Caesar).The personnel during all of these tours were so kind and so accommodating. If we were driving down a regular road and they saw something interesting, they would stop the shuttle and let us get out to see it. And they offered multiple times to stop at any store, coffee shop, or souvenir shop along the way, if we wanted. They truly wanted us to be satisfied. They were never rushing from stop to stop, or rushing to get us back to the resort. They took their time and made sure we had a great time. GREY and CAESAR – thank you so much for everything. We did the Unique volcano & rainforest tour w/the addition of ziplining for 5 of us. It was a long day, but we were able to squeeze so much in with just one excursion. If you’re limited on time, this is a great way to fit it all in. The views while ziplining were picturesque. Some of the best views I’ve ever seen while on a zipline. The mud bath and sauna wasn’t quite what I expected and if given the choice in the future, I would probably cut that part out to spend more time at the first waterfall. I was also surprised at how few people were at the waterfall. We did the Wildlife River Safari excursion in Costa Rica with Frank The Tank and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip! The tour picked us up at our resort and even looked for us when we were in the wrong meeting place. Harold and his driver were excellent and always kept their eyes out for anything interesting to show us. Harold pulled over to move a turtle off the road and brought the turtle to the van to show us. We did the unique volcano tour, and it was Phenomenal! "Carlitos Way" is the only way to take one of these tours. Carlos was the most professional, knowledgeable tour guide we've met on any trip so far. He's also basically the "Mayor" everywhere we went. Top notch service! I loved the private transportation to every activity! We booked the ATV tour, LaLeona Waterfall, a custom volcano tour which included sloths, jungle, coffee, chocolate, hot springs, horseback riding, swinging bridges and more waterfalls. Each activity was fantastic and I would recommend! Lastly, we did a sunset catamaran with breathtaking views and snacks and drinks. Our favourite by far was the rio Celeste tour where you also get a swim at another waterfall , rio Celeste hike, chocolate and coffee tour , sloth trail walk as well as lunch included.
